it's good to
meet you.

First, you should know my full name is Sara Recknagel.

I’m a West Michigan-based designer with a degree in Graphic Art and Marketing from Taylor University. I love design for its ability to communicate universally and create meaningful connections between people and ideas. I thrive in print design, branding + identity, and geeking out over type—especially the kind drawn by hand. Keep an eye out for custom lettering and joyful color palettes woven throughout my work.

When I’m not designing, I’m probably hanging with my dog, sneaking movie quotes into conversation, sipping sparkling water, or belting songs in the car like no one’s listening.

my work

an editorial publication designed to deeply engage supporters in the mission of CURE

This issue spotlights CURE Uganda’s global reach—complete with a fold-out map!—plus a spotlight on a husband-and-wife doctor duo devoted to service.

Grounded, inviting, and  faith-centered—this visual identity is built around a tree as a nod to both the church’s name and its deep roots in the West Michigan community. The growth of the tree stems from the cross, as does growth in the life of the church.

End the Wait is a call to bring life-changing surgeries to kids who can’t wait any longer. Raw textures, real handwriting, and pasted sticky notes created a sense of urgency across a printed appeal booklet, response device, and email series.
